Comment becomes a post

This came in today and instead of making it a comment under one of my blogs and taking the chance you wouldn't see it, I thouht I'll just post it. It's from one of the leaders of our Motorcylce ministry (CCR).

"Good morning Ed. I am sure you have been covered up with messages like this but I wanted to share it anyways. For all those who thought this last postcard was pushing it too far...We had a new couple join us on our CCR ride last Sunday. They told us that they received the 1st postcard with the Biker on it and thought that was pretty cool. But...they said it was the Guys on the Couch postcard (Ed's comment - the beer card) that made them say, "OK, we've got to check this church out!" They have come for 2 weeks now and are loving it.
My thoughts on this "Scandalous" approach is...Is this not who we are? We are not and do not claim to be perfect and without sin. Nor do we claim to be The Church for everyone. But we DO claim to be the church for those that need to be loved and accepted just the way they are. The church that is breaking the stereotype that pushed or kept them away. We are not told to only reach those that we are comfortable reaching out to, in a way that we are comfortable in reaching. Forget Comfort! We've got to reach them all in whatever way it takes! I am proud to be part of a church that is willing to step out to get the job done! PS..I can't wait to see what's next! "

Me too!! Thanks to you guys who ride bikes for not just doing that in the ghetto of Christianity but being out there meeting people where they are.

Amen..

And Ed please blog more about the
Christian Ghetto.. Because I have
friends and family that seem to get
trapped in this mindset of only interacting with other Christians
which really bothers me!
