- I was blown away today by the stories people were telling of God moving in their families through their discussions of Chapter 2. By the way, I would love to hear any stories you know of God at work as we reach out to the 60,000. Email chapter2@community-christian.net
- Susan and Lamar made me laugh every service with the cheerleader deal.
- I loved watching the videos of the interview Jason did with the 8 of us that were together since this things started 17 years ago. There are a lot of other people that have been here for a long time but those families were the ones that openly committed to hang in there in spite of whatever crap we might get thrown at us. I love them.
- I know you're wondering if I know but I don't. We haven't added up the commitments yet. You'll have to be there next Sunday.
- We are going to have a blow out Community Thanksgiving meal and give away this year. TWO LOCATIONS!!! Bring your stuff (clothes - particularly men's work clothes, kids stuff, etc.) next week. Leave them behind your car when you come into service and we will pick them up.
- Here's a great story for you from today. A guy wrote a some one's name down as one of "his four." He hasn't seen him since that time but he has been praying for the guy. On Saturday he tried to call the guy to invite him to the service on Sunday but never reached the guy. He comes on to church, sits down in his chair, looks down to the other end of the row and this guy (the one whose name he had written down) is sitting on the other end of the row. GOD IS AT WORK!
- Next Sunday is Celebration Sunday and FIRST FRUITS OFFERING. Remember we are planning on bringing as much of our three year commitment as we can this Sunday. I know some of you won't be able to bring much but bring what you can. Then we are going to give away a big part of that offering to our community as our FIRST FRUIT in making a difference in our community. We will use it to fund the TWO COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING MEALS, The Big Fix and our outreach to underesourced families at Christmas.

great day
Ed, my husband and I want to thank you for the Chapter 2 campaign. We are reaping the rewards already. I can't say that the last 2 weeks have been fun. UGH! There has been a lot of discussion and soul searching and numbers crunching. In order for us to come up with a figure of money we wanted to give we had to know where our money was going, I mean, precisely where our money was going. When we figured it out, we were both surprised (and maybe a little dismayed). All this work and it was work, led us to create a budget. In the past we had always used a budget but good circumstances of the last several years led us to stop. Now we see much more clearly each day the blessings God has given us. The prayer guide helped us to find out each others priorities, discuss them very personally, and make compromises and come up with a final agreement. This has brought us even closer together. Money is a very powerful, powerful subject and it can evoke strong and sometimes ugly emotions. We want to thank you for talking about this subject and not backing down. Your doing so and this Chapter 2 campaign in general has helped us in real, concrete ways to try and live our lives based on our priorities. We will not just talk the game we will actually be living it out. And all this is for the 60,000 but we are the ones reaping the rewards! Thanks, job well done!
What an encouragment you two are. Thanks for sharing your story.
