Bread, Milk and Church

I want to say it here first - we are still having church on Sunday. Yes, I know it's supposed to snow. Yes the Good Sense Financial Seminar is still happening on Saturday. We won't cancel either for a little bit of snow. If something happens and there is ice, we will make sure the word gets out. It will be here first. I know you are all going to the store to get bread and milk (I don't understand that, you can post a comment and explain it to me) so plan on coming to church as well. I don't want to go into all the "Jesus died on a cross you can drive through a few inches of snow to come." If I did that it would be way over the top so I won't say it.

Ed, these darn southerners aren't form the north. A little ice or snow means everyone needs bread and milk cause the world is ending. Snow is like the sky is falling to them. Up north, it takes about 5 feet to even make them think about closing stuff.

As someone who turned 16 and started driving in January in Iowa, it kills me. People in the south always say "well its different, you guys dont get ice, just snow" for the record; it is no differt. There is just as much ice. The differnece is in the north it is necessary to learn to drive on the snow/ice. And you see a lot of people here that dont seem to think you need to change your driving habits for the weather. So a bit of advice for all, slow down when you drive and ill see you at church tomorrow.

Consider this perspective; if you have a bunch of people on the road scared of the road conditions with no significant experience driving in snow/ice, it compounds the danger. True, how does one learn to drive in snow/ice, by driving… however, how often do they get the chance to practice? STAY HOME if you are scared of the road conditions. I would rather have less attendance in church than potentially more accidents and injuries which if you think about... would reduce church attendance for a longer period.

What, you never had a snow sandwich washed down with a a nice warm (because the electricity is out) glass of milk? Mmmmm good!

Milk and bread are the Northern code words for beer and pretzels. Southerners do not know this, so, they just buy the milk and bread!

Im not trying to be funny, but do people seriously think they will be stuck in their house for a week because of an inch of snow?
And Anonymous, I agree if someone is either scared or unsure of their driving ability due to the weather, I would also encourage them to stay off the roads.

Good for you for going ahead and having services. Our church has already cancelled. I wonder how we are going to face the Christians in China who huddle in the dark to worship because they are afraid of being killed and say "We cancelled because it was cold and there was a little snow." Hey I may come to Community Christian tommorrow.

Well, did JB visit and introduce himself to you?

Didn't introduce himself to me. Don't know whether or not he came.
