Some of the things in my head this past week

  • I've been trying to practice speaking less this week as a part of the Mouthwash series.  It is one of the more difficult things I've ever done.  However I am very thankful for this series "Beware of my mouth."
  • Did you read this interview the son of the Hamas leader who is now a follower of Christ?
  • I actually attended the only game the Braves won this week.  Had a great time with my oldest son, but these are dark days for the Bravos.
  • Just finished watching the forum Rick Warren hosted.  If you watched I would love to hear what you thought?  Did you learn anything you didn't know?  Did it help you in your choice for president?  If you didn't get to watch you can here.  Or if you prefer reading here are the transcripts.
  • Wow!!! phelps2
  • The part in here about medical doctors, scary!
  • I'm thinking about this and how we continue to reach more unconnected people and grow to full devotion as all of that changes.
  • If you've ever wondered what Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Will Smith and the other hand full of people who believe in Scientology actually believe about the after life - here is an interesting view.
  • "Where words are many sin is not absent. But he who holds his tongue is wise."  Jason had done a great job the last two weeks.  I'm looking forward to talking about the positive use of words this coming week.
  • Don't forget to go here, look at the bottom of the page and vote for what topic you'd like us to address in the "You Asked for it" series.
  • I don't know what to think about a statistic I read this week  - "Pastors are leaving the ministry at the rate 1500 per month". How is that possible?
  • This makes me smile.
  • By the way in case you read Jason's blog and wondered what I would do if someone at CCC made that offer.  I would go to their house and pick up the check.  Yes I know we say we won't come to your house - I would make this an exception.  Remember that if you'd like to get me over to your house.

The pastors who are leaving the ministry are probably rushing out to get bogus doctorates in medicine.

After many years of dealing with doctors all over the country, I've learned to be very skeptical of almost everything they say and every plan of treatment they propose. It's like the old joke: Q--What do you call the person who graduates from medical school at the bottom of the class? A--"Doctor"

I just wanted to share a few things. 1. I think the forum with Rick Warren was great. It hasnt influenced who i am planning on voting for, but was enjoyable to watch each candidate answer direct questions in a civil manner. 2. Apparently it only takes 2 votes to move the dinosaur question by one point in the poll.

I just checked there are right at 200 votes now so it doesn't take much to move the percentage. Keep voting for dino.
