This may be the perfect Chapter 2 Prayer

I've had some of the best conversations with people talking about what God is calling us to do for Chapter 2 at Community Christian. It's been a long day and I'm full again tomorrow. I sure hope everyone here is 1) Praying - get on the prayer guide 2) Getting involved - come on to a Group Fellowship. Come to a group fellowship. This is not your small group because I don't come to your small group. You will know you are at a group fellowship if I am there. RUMOR KILLER - I hear some of you think you have to bring your checkbook. You don't!!! Cash will do! Just Joking - lighten up people. Just come and let's talk about the future. 3) Planing to give whatever God leads you to give.

Okay, I was reading something and came across this prayer. It hit me that this is a great prayer for all of us with regard to Chapter 2 and what God would do through us individually and as a church. Let's go shark hunting. Pray this:


Disturb us, O Lord
when we are too well-pleased with ourselves;
when our dreams have come true
because we dreamed too little;
when we have arrived in safety
because we sailed too close to the shore.

Disturb us, O Lord
when with the abundance of
things possessed, we lose our thirst
for the water of life;
when, having fallen in love with time,
we have ceased to dream of Eternity;
and our efforts to build a new earth
have allowed Your vision for
the New Heaven to grow dim.

Stir us, O Lord to dare more boldly,
to venture on wider seas,
where storms shall show Thy Mastery,
where, losing sight of land,
we shall find the stars.

In the name of Him
who pushed back the horizons
of our hopes and invited
the brave to follow Him.
