I don't know how many of you who read this are football fans but the New England Patriots are just two wins away from having a perfect 16-0 regular season record. For most of this season they haven't just beaten teams - they've destroyed them. I was watching a news piece earlier this week and the reporter was making the point that at least one of the reasons for their sucess is that they hardly ever turn the ball over. You should have heard the players on that team talk about how much it was stressed by the coaches - don't fumble, don't throw interceptions, don't turn the ball over. Two or three of them talked about how Coach Bilichick had instilled in them the fact that when they have the football in their hands they have more than just the football. He says they have everything that everyone in the organization wants in their hands. They have their hopes and dreams for success as a team in their hands. Everything they want is in their hands when they have the football - so don't turn it over.
You know those of us who are Christians have been entrusted by God to carry the most important message to a dieing world - A SAVIOR IS BORN. . . CHRIST THE LORD When we are with people we represent Christ, we represent the rest of the church in the world, so we have to carry that message wisely. This weekend we have back to back days where we can invite someone to come enjoy Christmas with you at CCC. Often Christmas is one of the easiest seasons to get someone to come with you. The ball is in our hands. Carry the good news, invite your family and friends to come. Pray that God will use the teams that are serving this weekend at CCC to have an impact on the people who come. When you come serve and participate with great joy that you get to be a part of God's kingdom.
