It's Friday but Sunday is coming

I'm really looking forward to this weekend as we continue the series "What's up with that?" Last Sunday's kickoff was great as we looked at baptism together. This week the focus of the service will be The Lord's Supper, Communion or The Eucharist. All of which make those who are uninitiated into Christianity say "What's up with that?" Mike Parker is singing a great solo, we have a drama about communion that all I can say is "only at Community Christian" and in addition to that we will find out what the Bible actually teaches about this very important subject.

Last week someone that visited for the first time said "You guys are Christianity for Dummies." I think they meant it as a compliment. Even if they didn't I'm taking it that way. The "for Dummies" books are one of the best selling items of our day. In fact I've given away several copies of the book "Christianity for Dummies." I say that to remind you, if you have someone in your life that looks at "normal churches" and says "I don't get it!" Invite them to come and see "Christianity for Dummies." We try to put everything on the bottom shelf so everyone can get it.

Oh by the way, Kelley Davenport our Director of Student ministries is now blogging. He had a great blog here. Check it out.

Couple things
Every drama we do is a "only at community christian church" example, the cheer leaders. lol.

Also, im glad someone felt that way about our church. I like to think the same way. Keep it up Ed, a lot of people can't reach or see up at the top shelf.
