In the last couple of weeks I've had quite a few conversations with people outside our church that have heard about our Chapter 2 vision. They've asked about our move to become a multi-site church. Some have been very favorable. Others have openly questioned the move in light of the fact that we are also building a new facility. I had one "friend" question my sanity. :) Then today as I was just about to leave the office I talked to someone who was and I quote "so excited about our vision to be a multi-site church."
I kept talking on the phone but something about that comment didn't hit me right. I realized as I drove home what it was. We don't have a vision to be a multi-site church. Just like we didn't start Community Christian with a vision to be a contemporary church. We have always had a vision for one thing people - unconnected people. We want to reach people who don't know God. We want to reach people who are turned off by the church that they know. We want to reach people who don't know the church at all. We want to help the most off track, goofed up, sin filled people in our area. Our vision is for the 60,000 unchurched people in our area. We just happen to believe that right now for Community Christian building a new facility AND starting another campus is the right thing to do to reach more of the 60,000.
SO WITH THAT IN MIND - I want to remind you personally of the names you wrote back in September on one of the "paper people." Remember many of us at CCC committed to pray and ask and allow God to use us to reach out to neighbors and friends and family. We started great on Sunday with more than 60 first time guests. Please right now pray for people you know that are unconnected to Christ and His church. Then invite them to come with you this Sunday. This "Alternate Endings" series is a very relevant topic for anyone you know. We aren't doing this because we want to have a big church. We're doing it because every one of the 60,000 matter to God and they matter to us.

Another thing to keep in mind when inviting your friends is to not invite them to 2nd service though. Apparently one of my friends came that in invited without me knowing. They talked to me about it today. There was such a big crowed that he was a bit nervous. He didn't think that a church could be so crowded. We proved him wrong lol. He liked the church, but is thinking about coming at a different service. I hope he continues to come back.
