How would you answer that question? I think my answer has changed a good bit through the years. I heard an answer several months back that has been rattling around in my head. I’ve been sort of trying it on for size to see what I think. To see if it works as a truth in many different areas of life. Here is the answer, I’m working with these days.
Truth + Grace + Time
What do you think? Better yet, what is your answer to the question?

Yep-
Except too many times I want Miracle-Grow. The easy way out. Come on God, you know I struggle with this, You don't like it, I don't like it...so make with the *POOF*! Except I have not found in scripture or in my own personal journey that God is the God of *POOF*. Even He took time, 7 days at least to create the world. Could He *POOF* absolutely, but He chooses not to. Growth takes the acceptance and application of TRUTH, the falling down and getting back up again of GRACE, and the daily walk with Him that can only happen over TIME.
BTW, as a side note, listened to one of your podcasts the other day in our sanctuary, closed my eyes and went right back in time, at first to the Athletic Center with it's view of the trees (used to imagine Jesus teaching out there when I couldn't close my eyes to pray). Then to the High School, without the whole metal chair sqeak thing...
I heard an interesting comment... On Word FM..
The is one sin that won't be forgiven. It is the sin of blasphemy to the Holy Spirit. Otherwise, how many times do you "shut out" the Holy Spirit before it is too late. The example that was given was the Pharisees attitude against Jesus. Just food for thought.. hence the "willingness to change"
Ed I agree but I would add + trials, and then start all over again with + truth + grace + time. Just my thought. Or at least that seems to be the way it is for me!
I can answer in one word brother, instead of three…
