In case you forget everything else read this

I talked a little bit about why we do some of the things we do on Sunday in a post about "Uncrossing their arms". You can read it here. I also gave you an analogy of shark hunting to help you think about what we do and why. Read it here. Let me start this week be reminding you of what we (the church) has that can't be gotten anywhere else. It's our one trump card and the thing that must permeate everything at Community Christian if we want to reach the 60,000. I hope you already know what it is. – it’s Love.

We have awesome music, humor that permeates most of what we do, quality videos, great drama and messages that don't totally suck. And our style helps to break the stereotypes people have of church. But our style is not why un-and anti-churched people come to, stay at and have their lives changed at Community Christian. Think about it, if you’re a non-Christian who wants to listen to contemporary music on Sunday morning, turn on the radio. And if you’re a non-Christian who wants good drama on a Sunday morning, rent a good video from Blockbuster. And if you’re a non-Christian who wants to see some quality videos on a Sunday morning, turn on MTV. And if you’re a non-Christian who wants to take in some funny skits on a Sunday morning, Tivo Saturday Night Live the night before, and watch it after sleeping in. The style we have helps, but it’s certainly not the main reason people stick at Community Christian and have their lives changed. The reason is because we have something that people cannot get on the radio, at Blockbuster, or in bars, and that’s unconditional love. We offer the grace of God. We want to make sure that when people come to Community Christian they know they will not be judged and they know they’re not looked down on. They know they’re loved.

That’s the key. That’s what we want to be best at. We want to love people better than anyone else. That's the banner we have to keep high in Chapter 2.

And everything that CCC does is done to perfection!! I love it, and hate missing Sundays. I wish there was a way we could watch online missed services should we not be able to make it to church. I know you can hear messages (which I do), but it's the message, drama, video, and music combined that really hits the heart and brings me even closer to God. Thank you for all that you do!!!

Haha Ed, you should have seen Caitlyn VO at her First Amendment Rally on Sunday. She was cornered by a "street preacher" and really held her own! Told him that his "homosexuals are going to hell" sign was no way to get people to Christ and that Jesus hung out with the sinners..not the "good" people! I guess all the years at CCC - and you and Jason - have really made an impact on her!
