It's been seven years since “9/11.” It's weird you don't even have to write the year and we all know. It seems certain events in each generation seem to mark us. Here's the question for today.
When the 9/11 attacks took place, where were you exactly? What did you do?
If you want a good read for the anniversary here is Time Magazine to mark the 1 year anniversary.

I believe I was in 3rd grade, in class, doing math. I don't think I learned about it until I got home that day. My parents where watching the news and I saw it.
I was in the middle of a TV interview with the director of Coweta County's 9-11 system when the first plane hit. We decided to do a video story about 911 right at 9 am. You can see the towers on fire in the background while we were shooting a tour of 9-11. (we thought at the time a small plane had crashed into it) Then just a little bit later I was shooting footage of a fireman explaining to little kids how his oxygen worked. We had no idea what was going on in NYC at the same time. I was not told what had happened till I got back to the TV station. Then I spent the rest of my day driving all over Coweta County getting people's reaction for our coverage on The Times-Herald and NewsChannel 9.
I was just out of high school and working in construction clean-up. I was getting ready for work while watching the news. We saw the second plane hit live. I ended up sitting in front of the TV all day. My step dad Dave's mom was flying out of Boston that day, so we waited to hear from her. She had to wait in line for several hours to use a pay phone. Three weeks later i joined the Army.
I was getting ready to go into work at the time. Before I turned on the TV, I went on line, and saw teh first stories about it (just after 9am). I went into work right away- not only thinking about work but about all of my friends and family still in the New York area. It took me a few hours to reach my dad on Long Island because the phone lines were tied up. My brother was working on a construction job near the WTC- he was safe. His father in law saw the 2nd plane hit while he was a few miles away on the Brooklyn Bridge. He ended up getting home safely. Meanwhile, I was on the air most of the afternoon on J93 while worrying about my hometown. Turns out, I ended up losing 3 people in the towers.
We need to remember how our country came together, and get that back.
